Nah, not on day one in a new career.

There are crappy engineers just like there are crappy employees in every profession. Being good at school doesn't automatically translate into being good at an actual job. There's always a period in a new job--and even more so when it's your first job in that profession-- when you have to prove yourself. If you've really never had to do that, no wonder you're having a hard time.

I read the thread.

" hey I've said it before and I'll say it agai - it's ok to do either - both- neither - work, stay home, do a little of each - it's up to each family -- there are pros and cons to every choice -- somedays I love working some days I hate it - I'm sure SAHMS can say the same -- somedays it's easy, somedays it's a nightmare -

*shrug* I guess people will never "get" that one isn't better than the other and that all choices are valid "

"Well, then why was it assumed, that sahm would leave their child is a gym day care? Why was that generalized? I wonder if that member intended to make such a generalization."

I never *assumed" anything.

Sure, we're allowed to share our views. And any of us can read adn respond to any post, including one that isn't addressed to us.

However, when a post is addressed to a particular person, and it doesn't include a qualifier such as "Others have said" or "This isn't directed at you in particular" then it's reasonable to conclude that a statements in that post are directed to whom the post is addressed to.

<< but I wasn't talking to you >>

Ah, but the header of your post -- you know in the "to" line? --

<*why* it was assumed. I didn't ask you *why* you assumed it?>>

Yes. But how on God's green earth would I know why it was assumed when I wasn't the one that assumed it?
