for the record -- I made NOWHERE near 200 posts yesterday....I think I made 2-3, maybe 4 or 5. So, frankly, I skipped lots of the discussions over the last few days because the rate of posting in general was INSANE.
<>
I was responding to posts that I felt like responding to.

thanks for the offer, but how about if I post the way that "I" want to post?

I think wohps can raise great kids all while supporting the country by working. As an educator for 20 years, I think I've added alot to the "next generation".
<>
I tend to skip through lots and lots of those -- especially when I see certain usernames. it makes the board much easier to read.
<>
Again, I comment where I can, when I can. The board ran up something like 1500 posts in the last few days. My time here was limited due to my working on Friday and spending most of the day yesterday with my dh sans children.

holding down a job.

yes, but not all of them. My sd's mom did her NO favors and now that he dad has sole custody, we've been working hard to make up for all of the gaps that she's left with.
I also don't think work status makes one whit of difference in how kids are raised. Good, involved parents will be JUST THAT -- good involved parents.
Frankly, I've been a wohm for almost 18 years -- and I don't know ANY other way to do it, LOL!

this makes no sense. then again, I didn't "toss" my kids into dc either (i think that was you that used that term).

I guess the world is a better place because moms who need jobs can find jobs?????
Actually, the world is a better place because of WM's because we are the role models that show that women can have both career and family.
No, I'd just ask you how you know they're organic.
And I used to live across the street from a SAHM who doesn't watch her own kids.
"Thank you! And yes, I know exactly what you mean. I put several ppl on ignore simply because I don't have the time or the desire to debate things I never said. I have no problem clarifying or discussing the issues .. or even having someone disagree with me, but I am choking on all the words being put in my mouth. "
At least we can say is nothing personal, I have been there too!!!
Doesn't get annoying when your posts get twisted around over and over again??
Augh...
I was actually trying to make a point at why the world is a better place b/c of sahms, and I though I would add to it that I do think WM make this world better too.
The fact that I went on and on about sahms instead of wm is b/c
"Unless you're buying from the source or can verify the supply line, you may be simply paying more for something labeled as organic when it isn't. When stores can get more for a product just by saying it's organic or atlatic caught (as in salmon) instead of just regular produce and farm raised, some are tempted to take the profit. "
I agree. Plus, Atlantic salmon on are being over fished and then there is the whole problem with mercury.......
"Personally, I'm more concerned with buying local to support my local community so I head to the farm in the summer. "
Lucky! I go to several farmer;s markets. In addition to helping the local economy you are also helping with food security issues and with global warming. I just ordered a raised bed (because I am too lame to build one myself) and will be gardening to eat and not dabble so much this summer.
FYI, the dolphin in restaurants is a fish and not the mammal dolphin. Buying the albacore tuna is supposed to be better for the mammal dolphin population than buying regular tuna.
I'd love to garden but I have two huge oak trees in my back yard that pretty much shade the whole yard.
