Don't play your games with me. I haven't accused you of putting down WOHPs, so I am under no burden to prove you've done so. You, however, have accused me of putting down both SAHPs and DCPs. The onus is on you to show where I did so.

>> Our pedicatrician says that kids often act up more for their parents because they are most comfortable with their parents. They feel they can push boundaries around mom and dad without fear of rejection. Listening to grandma and grandpa more may not mean what you think it does. Children don't always listen best to the adults they are most comfortable with. <<

Yep yep yep.

BTDT and still doing it with my YDS.

Your post really did make it look like that, though. So perhaps you are not being as clear as you think.

Sure, we can move on-- if the next time you talk about why you stayed at home, you don't say "I stayed at home to raise my kids."

My experience of it is so different. I think dealing with a bigger child is easier for me because at least I feel that my efforts do make some sort of difference. Now I also ever so occasionally get something resembling positive feedback. My particular kid never did that when she was small, so it was difficult at times to keep going.

You know, I never understand that phrase or have figured out how raising of kidds is only from birth to 5 years of age and during working hours only.

>> I don't care for him, as in looking out for him <<

You don't look out for your husband? Poor guy.

>> as in being in charge of him. <<

Ha. I cared for (physically) AND was in charge of mine when he was recovering from major surgery. He was much more compliant because he had no choice. I liked it that way.

Seriously though, I think you are the one twisting semantics here.

I do admit I had pretty easy baby, toddler and preschool years and saw differences and positive feedback through those years....now I feel like I'm beating my head against the wall a lot of times with my tween almost *ack* teenage boy, not to mention the smells of teenage boys, lol....I admit the years between 9/10 and 12/13 have been the hardest years of parenting and "raising" my son so far....

Yes, in a way I think I was lucky that dd was so difficult when small. It means that the teen thing seems relatively easy.
