>> And the above statement is also not conducive to ALL WOH parents ... it's your experience, doesn't make it everyone's experience. Many ppl I know work in the city. The average time away from home is 7-6 or 7 at at night. That's more then 40 hours. There's dinner, baths, homework, housework and whatever else. So again, your scenario of working parent doesn't apply to everyone. <<
But yours doesn't either. My commute is very short and I have a very flexible schedule. I take my kids to school in the morning by 8:30 on my way to work and I am able to pick them up/be home by 5:30 or 6:00 pm. If I can't, then my DH or my ex usually can.
This might not be the norm, but it stands in pretty strong contrast to your suggested scenario.

I know, I know.....it took me awhile to realize that I didn't have to do every single thing for my children, that they actually benefited from others doing things for them.....I was a wee bit controlling in the first months of motherhood, lol.

>> For me, however, it's more then just delegating when it comes to child. <<
Come on - you can't tell me that you don't delegate anything. I'll freely and proudly tell you to whom I delegate tasks when it comes to my kids. I don't know how to give their teeth a cleaning or fill cavities, so I happily allow their dentist to do that. I don't know how to teach ODS to play a musical instrument, so I happily pay his music instructor for that service. I certainly don't have the capacity to set up a soccer league, so I've enrolled YDS in the local league. I don't personally own or run a summer camp in the woods, but the directors of the camp they go to does. I cannot home school my children, so I trust the schools in which I've enrolled them to educate them in academic subjects. I have no interest in skiing, but the father of one of ODS friends loves it, so I am very VERY glad that he takes ODS along when he takes his own son skiing. Their doctor oversees their health care. I buy their clothes at the store because I don't have the time nor sewing talent to make their clothes.
You see where I'm going with this.

And your (generic) job, as a parent who needs day care, is to pick a GOOD provider with whom you are comfortable.
If you pick a bad one, then that's on you.

>> Oh, I don't even know how this is possible. <<
It's very possible if you take the time to find a GOOD dcp.
