I'm not trying to be dense (it's just been a long work day, LOL!), but I'm not sure what you're saying.

There are no after school activities around here until after 6:00. No one is running around in the afternoon. The nanny is here with them from the time they get home until 5:00. I normally get home at about 4:00.

and, frankly, in the district I work in, there are lots and lots of sahms (the kind with lots and lots of money) and THEIR kids are the ones that have multiple activities per week.

You don't want to discuss it, so, why should I?

I'd be happy to discuss it, but you are refusing to do so.

It's kind of funny since EVEYONE knows that you don't go into teaching FOR the money, LOL! As well, while teachers may, in general, be respected (much more now than many years ago), there are many other professions that would be much, much more "impressive".

"I need the stimulation of talking to other adults to be happy" is not illogical.

DCPs help raise kids, for sure. That does not mean that the parents are not raising their own kids, however.

I think I have tried to explain this to you several different ways.

I'm a teacher. I have in NO way, shape OR form "raised" the children in my care. Have I educated them? Yes. Have I taught them manners when needed? Yes. Have I disciplined them when needed? Yes

but NONE of that comes close to ANY definition of "raising" children.

Oh, and NONE of my childcare providers (from home dc, preschool, nannies OR school teachers) would EVER claim that THEY are the ones raising my kids. does each one have a very, very tiny sliver of the pie? Sure. But, frankly, my son was last in a home dc over 14 years ago. Then he had 2 preschool teachers and about 4-5 nannies (three of which stayed long-term). However, ex and I are the ones responsible for EVERYTHING associated with his raising -- as well as that of his sisters too.
