>>DCPs help raise kids, for sure. That does not mean that the parents are not raising their own kids, however.

I think I have tried to explain this to you several different ways.<<

Probably, but you continued here and I already stated this was determined posts ago.

My point to you is it doesn't mean the person is illogical. There's nothing on this board Ihaven't heard before IRL. I've had plenty of WM friends say things like, "My brain is numb, I have to go back to work" or even, "I don't know how ppl sahm, I feel I have to be stimulated." or whatever. Sometimes we talk more about, but ingeneral, I do not jump and assume they are talking about SAHM in general and I certainly do not think they are illogical.

Anyway,

<<"I need the stimulation of talking to other adults to be happy" is not illogical. >>

I agree. Happy mom/Dad = happy kids. However, I don't think WOH is the only way to get daily adult stimulation - although the alternatives are not universally available.

>>I'm a teacher. I have in NO way, shape OR form "raised" the children in my care. Have I educated them? Yes. Have I taught them manners when needed? Yes. Have I disciplined them when needed? Yes<<

See, to me, all those things you've mentioned are part of raising a child.

No they don't but I'm at about 70% of a first year bachelors level teacher with zero hope of ever earning more.

not really, although I guess you could consider education as one piece of raising a child. If that's the case, I guess we'd have to figure out the percentage since I have them for 9 months, 200 min. per week. Of course, they also have 7 other teachers for almost that amount of time. AND that's just THIS year. They've already generally had pre-k, and k-5. Many of them also have tutors, after school activities, coaches and religious school.

With the exception of 35 hours per week (leaving those 133 hours per week under MY roof), I did all the "work". I also was the one who hired their dcp -- finding people whose child-caring philosophy pretty much mirrored mine. ALSO, those dcp/preschool hours ended when each child entered kindergarten at 5. Oh, wait, only one of them entered at 5, one entered at 3 (birth-3) and one entered at 4.5.

Because feeling that the people you work for, and I ultimately, work for the parents, value you and appreciate what you do is part of the package.

See, and I thought speaking about someone was against TOS.

Then I guess you'd be mistaken.
