sure I've had a teeny-tiny piece of the EDUCATION of a child -- which is just ONE facet of raising them.

<>

I'm sure that you don't. However, that doesn't change the FACT that I believe that ALL time during a week counts -- all 168 hours.

<.

Sure, for 6.5 hours per day I let their teachers educate them. That's again, just ONE tiny facet of raising them. The overwhelming job of RAISING them is, overall, mine. Mine to be responsible for directly - as well as to hire out indirectly those parts which I believe are better for others to do.

<>

sure they acted in my absence and yet again, they were responsible for just ONE facet of "helping" me raise my child. I'm sorry you don't undertand it.

You don't have to be sorry. I understand, I don't agree. How boring life would be, and this board would be, if we just all agreed with each other.

Considering all you are doing is talking about me, do you have anything to add to the debate?

I'm not required to answer anything.

Of course you aren't.

Perhaps it's the requirement that we contact the parents that drives home the lack of respect.

When I attempted to discuss the topic, you told me that you reported me.

Nobody said shocked, but when most engineers are men, you're more likely to impress someone by being a woman engineer.

But whatever. If you don't think anybody is impressed that you were a woman engineer, I don't care. The point is that it should have been obvious to you that moving into a female-dominated profession wasn't going to impress anybody.

You've complained repeatedly about how parents aren't impressed with your career change and about how the low salary (which you agreed to when you took the job) shows that you're not valued.

I agree--you weren't prepared. You weren't prepared for the lower salary or the fact that people aren't impressed with what you do anymore.
