should do it all? I hear this and think why should a woman at home do every thing? Shouldn't it be whatever works? Shouldn't it be whatever floats the boat of the married couple? Confused on this thinking.

If you are home do you do it all? How does your DH or SO feel?

WOH do you do it all or do you split it? Do you do more or less since you WOH?

I know plenty of women who sah after the kids have left, but honestly, I've never met one single woman who didn't have a career before marriage. Then again, I don't know anyone who didn't go to college in pursuit of a career, so maybe that's the difference.

In our finances all money is tagged as ours although I'm a house wife. The account and checks have both of our names and we both sign the checks. We both manage the account. The maid is paid from our money.

College women also decide to be house wives.

So you're working too? Well then, you have more to do than a sahm. I work too, and things get left undone all the time. It's a simple matter of truly not having the time to do it, like I did when I sahm.

If a woman is working part-time or wah, then they certainly need and deserve help from their spouse.

No, I said it's against zoning regulations in the county where I live and where my sister lives (different county in CT), so I was just curious as to where they still allow clotheslines.

That they are "less"??? Well, I don't get that AT ALL. I'm actually pretty impressed with the way some of these woman have their husbands wrapped around their fingers. They definitely aren't "less", if anything they're "more" and a whole lot savvier to boot!

In what part of the country is "maid" a common term? Unless she is full-time live in, around here we call them housekeepers or cleaning people.

I was thinking the same thing. For part of the time that I SAH, I spent almost all of my time doing things for my son....running him to appointments (usually 4-5 per week), doing his PT exercises at home, doing cast care after surgeries, plus all the regular child care stuff that comes along with having a toddler. Also, when a child isn't mobile, there is a lot of run-and-fetch involved. I didn't have twins, but I had one child who was, and at times still is, at least the work of two. I was lucky if ANYTHING got done around the house. Thank goodness for my family...they were great at giving me a break so I could do dishes or something equally exciting.

Incompetent? I don't think so. There are plenty of circumstances other than having twins that could cause a SAHM to not have time to do it all.

If you say so, I just never met one who sahm before kids. They'd all tend to be a tad bored just being housewives, not to mention being very uninteresting on the cocktail party circuit.

The maid not only cleans every day but also has other responsibilities. Cooking, laundry, marketing. No, we do not have maid living quarters.
