I am working as a researcher on a book that I thought might be of interest to you
The author of the book is renown tax expert Ed McCaffery, who is the author of Taxing Women, as well as a frequent media commentator and political advisor, who has also written for the popular media, including pieces in USA Today, Working Women, the L.A. Times, Wall St. Journal, WSJ on-line.
The book is intended to address the financial, tax, and emotional issues facing the "modern family", as well as to help people learn to advocate for their rights. Basically, we are addressing that since some of us are stay at home moms, some are working moms, single moms, divorced moms etc, that traditional financial and tax planning dont necessarily apply to our situations and our lives.
In order to address the unique issues and needs of a diverse group of women, we need to find a pool of individuals to participate in our study. The lives, struggles and successes of these women and their families will be the basis of the book, and will help us to determine the topics which must be addressed.
I just wanted to open this up to anyone who might want to be involved as a "subject" - it would involve a "pre-survey" just to give us an idea of your family / work /financial situation and then for those selected , more in-depth personal interviews.
We will also be dealing with older couples who don’t marry because of loss of social security benefits as well as stay at home dads, so if you have friends who are interested, please refer them as well!
