Why should I support someone else?

Let me start by saying that I"m new here so this may have already been discussed, but this has come up in my office several times and I wanted to get some other views of this.

I do payroll for a rather small company so I know most of the workers and their wives (most of the workers are men due to the nature of our business). There are two in particular who's wives SAH. These two are up to their eyeballs in debt. I have bill collectors constantly calling for them. That part is really their business, it is annoying but I enjoy being rude back to the bill collectors, lol.

The part that bothers me is that both wives have been in the office wanting copies of X amount of check stubs so that they can go and get public assistance (I know because they told me that is what it is for)! Why should my tax money go so that these women can SAH? I know that not all families that one parent stays at home are like this, but I know lots that are. Heck, growing up we were always broke because my mother refused to work, but we weren't on any public assistance.

So, why should I pay for a woman to SAH? Why can't she go and get a job to support her family just like anyone else?

I am also under the impression that obs routinely prescribe depression medication for PPD. I could be wrong though. I do know that DH was prescribed anti-anxiety meds by a general practioner though.

No, the point is that these are home parties that no one knows about and not something done in the back of a store in secrecy. No one is made to feel like they are doing something wrong and that is why they are so popular.

Are you that familiar with LI??

Do you still not comprehend that it is not possible to be legitimate AND sell/make counterfeit merchandise?

What does income have to do with the legality or morality? Lots of rich people do drugs. The drugs are just as illegal as they would be when purchased by poor people.

All that may be true, but it is still ILLEGAL and WRONG! How can you not understand that?

I did not spend much time on LI, no.

If you do understand, then why do you keep insisting that it is a perfectly nice thing, not so bad and probably a business that legitimate people do?

It is against the law to steal money from someone. Whether its fake purses or taking money from the boss. All of us posting from work are doing just that. We are taking money from our bosses. That's a crime. So, yes, to answer your good question. Sometimes it is allright if every one else is doing it. Ask any one here.
