WOH and sleeping issues

We were at a dinner party last night at the home of one of dh's coworkers. They have 2 boys, 6 and 4. They have a bunch of sleeping issues (kids 'scared' at night, won't fall asleep in their own bed, won't go to bed without mom or dad cuddling them, etc.) The mom blames herself because since she works all day and misses them so much she tends to cuddle with them late at night and they fall asleep in a pile on the bed all together. She said that if she SAH, they wouldn't have the same issues.

I sah. For us, bed time is a rigid, welcome respite at the end of the day. Dh has no desire to keep them up either, lol.

No problem - it's been nuts with no childcare, boss on vacation, ILs in town, etc., etc., etc.

Thanks.

If they're choosing to play together, then why is that a problem? How do you know one of them needs quiet time if he doesn't go get it for himself? Why does a parent need to intervene at all in that case?
Congratulations! I'm so happy to hear it. I just heard the good news and popped back over, just in case you were still checking in.

It upsets me emotionally, sometimes very much, to hear my child cry - especially if it's hard.

Quite telling in what way? If you stop and think about it, any negatives I can come up with regarding woh ft have to do with things like trying to juggle childcare and family life. Things that would be negatives for my children. I dont see woh in itself as a negative, nor would I see it as a personal negative if I chose to woh ft (and gee, most people would consider going to school pt and working pt as pretty much equaling ft hours....)

Yes, I assumed this was house league. Even in house league its not right to have officials asking kids what happened.

I admit I resent it when I'm out in public and other parents don't do a single thing to quiet or calm their crying child.
