WOH and sleeping issues

We were at a dinner party last night at the home of one of dh's coworkers. They have 2 boys, 6 and 4. They have a bunch of sleeping issues (kids 'scared' at night, won't fall asleep in their own bed, won't go to bed without mom or dad cuddling them, etc.) The mom blames herself because since she works all day and misses them so much she tends to cuddle with them late at night and they fall asleep in a pile on the bed all together. She said that if she SAH, they wouldn't have the same issues.

I sah. For us, bed time is a rigid, welcome respite at the end of the day. Dh has no desire to keep them up either, lol.

From my perspective, having your first bio child at 34 is not "delayed" childbearing.

No, I truly don't think suzymomm or dogma "have it under control" any more than we do.

Thanks Alot!!

I think that you sound lonesome and maybe would like to take my boys for like a week camp at your house.lol

Kidding. What are you going to do when they are all gone? It will be so quiet and I am sure that your food bill is diminishing as well.

I will be looking forward to grandkids!

You know, I don't like any of those things, either. They make me so crabby. I'm just like you in the sense that I like control, calm, routine, predictability, etc. And with my DD1, who is now 16, I never had any of those problems. Only with my DD2; she was an easy baby, but once she started walking and talking, I had all four of those issues and more. Boy, did I resent it. Then I found out she actually couldn't help it because she has ADHD. Some kids are just more mellow and easy than others, and when the fit isn't great, it's rough. It will probably get easier for you soon.
