I respect your DH's service very much, but the fact remains from a debate POV that two parents employed full time but living with their children, even if those parents use othercare for 60 hours a week, see and parent their children much more than a deployed father or mother.

He's the parent, so why shouldn't it be up to him when he wants to watch TV? Are you assuming he is somehow not spending enough time with his dd? Or not spending time at the right times? I'm so-o-o not getting how it could be a dcp's concern.

Went back and read, but didn't find much. I did find a comment about how a dcp thought a dad should have been picking up his dd from dc instead of watching TV. Is that a leap? Maybe an assumption that somehow the dad was doing something wrong? I'm not sure, but it wasn't my comment.

The driven dual WOHP couple is more common than the Hollywood star type, by far.

It's simply a fact.

Well, you've been rather silent on the topic of how many dc hours you would consider appropriate, while making sure we all understand you think there is such a thing as "too much dc". You've suggested too much dc can interfere with the bond betweeen parent and child, that you don't see why a dad would want to watch TV instead of pick up his dd, and that at least one dc child you know loves you more than her parent, presumably because of (you guessed it) "too much dc". So if we're left to think you don't approve of dc running to 40, 50 or 60 hours per week, I guess we're just confused!
