For those of you that WOH and say you have to do it to make ends meet. Do you really do it to make ends meet or do you do it cause you want to keep up a certain lifestyle? Do you know how to live with out debt or without having to keep up with the joneses?

What's wrong is that "odd" has a pejorative connotation that "outside the norm" doesn't necessarily.

I don't think she said that you working negatively affects your children. She was asking a specific question to a specific group of parents. Again you will have to ask her this question and see if she will answer. I haven't made any statements about working parents. Especially since I am one.

Well that isn't what odd means. Again I don't see the point here. What you find normal I might find odd. Doesn't make it bad or good...just what I said it was. Odd.

So one opinion about a parenting choice means that I would have an opinion on the millions and millions of parenting choices? You really think that?

I really don't care what people do with their children. However this is a specific case where I am involved in this child's life a good portion of the day and week. So again why would one opinion on a parenting choice automatically consitute an opinion of millions of choices with millions of parents?

Read my post again. I stated what I meant. Just what the word means.

If the assumption WASN'T that there was a negative effect on children, why would she have a problem with WOHMs who 'say' they have to work? Why does it matter to her of others choose to work if there isn't a negative effect on children?

And FTR, I often USED my then husband's deployment status during debates as a WOHM. People don't 'bash' military parents for their absences, typically speaking. . .even when they'll rake WOHMs (have to or choose to WOHMS) for much, much shorter absences. I often pointed out that irony using my then husband's service.

<<Joining the military is voluntary...being deployed isn't. >>

Then don't join the military if you aren't willing to
