"And why does it matter when a person can afford NOT to work and chooses not to because they simply don't want to? Nothing more nothing less."
It sounds like laziness to me.

If NO ONE signed up, we would definately have to have a draft. If there was absolutely nobody in the entire country willing to be a soldier- we would have to have a draft.
How likely is this to happen? About as likely as having NO ONE sign up to be a police officer. Or NO ONE sign up to be a teacher. Or NO ONE sign up to be any number of professions.
You sold the Manolos???
Ok, the odds of a military person being deployed is much greater than a policeman being killed in the line of duty.
Where we live is more of a factor of what kind of home and how we pay for it than my job. We could afford to buy a home if we were willing to move from San Diego and away from our families. I could earn more in my career if we moved to a larger, more metropolitan city. But to answer your question, yes, designer clothing is very important to our girls. They love to point out to people that they designed and their mother made the clothes (and costumes) that they wear. All a result of my almost 30 year career in dressmaking.
