For those of you that WOH and say you have to do it to make ends meet. Do you really do it to make ends meet or do you do it cause you want to keep up a certain lifestyle? Do you know how to live with out debt or without having to keep up with the joneses?

ETA Please excuse all my siggys. Obviously I dont know how to turn them off. I thought I did.

"And if she IS doing her job as it's supposed to be done?"

She's not, if she's posting at the same time that she should be concentrating on her work.

That's where you're wrong. You have no idea if it was "at the expense" of anyone. Being at work doesn't make it so.

Out of curiosity are you working at the moment and do you also post during work hours? I tend to not assume too much based on when a poster is apparently posting. For example, I actually very rarely post during my work hours except at lunch time (I'm off the clock for lunch, so to speak), but it looks like I post a lot during normal work hours because I usually post mid-afternoon and evening my time, which in the middle of the day US time.

I wont say it again. It is still a valid remark. You didn't say anything about name calling, or on topic, or anything else. You said UNCALLED FOR...The remarks you made to me earlier were uncalled for. So again it is valid.

<>

It was similar because it was uncalled for. Why aren't you grasping this?

<>

Because like you said to me. It was uncalled for.

Giving a one word answer of complex or not complex is not revealing anything personal.

Sure you posted everything. It was based on a false statement. I have continually shown you this. You have continually ignored it. So again your backpedalling remark was wrong.

Is posting on a message board part of an accountants job description?

And before you start getting into making a point that relieving oneself is not part of a job description either, let's stick to this.

I can assure you I'm off the clock. I work evening hours.

Again, you have nothing to base that on. I'll give you an example:

I'm posting at work right now. All my real work is caught up. Done. I'm in "hurry up and wait mode" awaiting documents from a couple of professors. I can't start a new big project, because I need to be able to stop at any moment, when the professors bring me their stuff. I can't do that to a big new project. But I CAN do that with message boards.

Oh, sure, I could tackle the pile of shredding that's at my desk. But all my coworkers are in and the shredder noise annoys them; I should do that when the others are out. I could clean my desk, but it's pretty clean. I could archive some emails, but oh wait, I did that Tuesday. I could defrost the fridge.

My job has big periods of down time; I might be in a very slow time for 2-3 days, and then be so busy I don't have time to pee for 3-4 days. That's just the way it goes. As long as my deadlines are met and my professors are happy, then there's no "expense" of me spending an hour or so (spread out in 3-4 minute increments) on a message board. Shoot, I work through 3 lunches a week, so they owe me 3 hours already anyway!
