I am a stay at home mom of 2 beautiful children. One is 3 and one will be 6 very soon and is in the first grade.for quite a long time i have been torn between staying at home or working and really don't know which way to turn.I sometimes feel that i am not contributing the way that i should and that feeling really gets to me, but at the same time my youngest only has to wait one more year before she is old enough to be accepted into the preschool program that is held in the same school building that my oldest child is in. i have been ridiculed people including certain in laws about my current decision to remain home a little longer. they can say a lot of not so nice things about me(ie:that i'm being lazy and being an unfit parent)neither of which are true because not only do i take care of everyone in my home but i'm teaching my 3 year old too.can someone please give me advice on what i should do?

i am on his insurance as a domestic partner.in NYS,you don't necessarily have to be married. you have to prove that you have lived with the person for at least 1 year and there are other thngs that need to be sent with application but i cannot think of them from the top of my head .the insurance company does this to allow same sex couples to have insurance but opposite sex couples are allowed to apply as domestic partners as well so that there is no discrimination.

i understand that you may believe that marriage is the way to go, but

let's just put it this way.when one makes rude comments, one shall get nasty comments back.i will not sit there and take someone making rude comments about my situation.and no i will never agree that my mans mother(aka, mrs.nosy belittle)should know our business.we don't spend every waking moment asking that woman for money and when she asks to borrow money from us,we don't make it our business to ask her how she is going to spend it nor do we ask her about her financial situation.since we don't agree on this part let's just agree to disagree, but do not think i will sit there and tolerate nasty comments without firing back a few of my own !
