My comment was based on the context where; the area required a security guard, they had a warm (and lighted) place to wait for the bus and others to wait with them....choosing the cold, dark,

That wasn't my statement though, the context was the choice to do so versus choosing to wait in the light and warm.

There aren't any cafes, shops or whatnot around the school....so the commons (the center of the school) is the preferred social gathering for many of the students and given that students come from many different areas, they learn at a young age to appreciate hanging out together in the commons.

to me, this is like the old "you can't know what your daycare provider is doing when you're not there" argument. every kid--every human--is going to slip up or try to slide every once and a while, but it isn't at all unreasonable for a parent with a

i'll chime in and note that my kids' middle school has a security guard on campus any time the building is unlocked. during the school day they are mostly
