Executives in our company have more flexibility BUT they are not paid for vacation, sick or personal days.

I don't disagree, which is why I stated with their teachers as at school and not a single teacher.

Exactly the point, many of those tasks don't matter in the grand scheme of things...aka parenting.

A school can't be a primary caregiver. A primary caregiver is a PERSON. Also a primary caregiver is primary because they are raising the child, responsible for the child any hour of the day whether they are in school or not. It doesn't have to be a parent, it can be a grandparent or a foster parent or a legal guardian. It can't be a school.

Yes, but I didn't mention caretaking for those two hours, which is what confused me...a parent who spends 8 hours a day with a child may have about as much time actual parenting as a parent who spends 2 hours a day with a child, it depends on what occurs during those hours.

Sure they are...part of parenting is caretaking....part of any human relationship is caretaking.

It doesn't have to be at the same level, even within parents and/or between children in the same family....it's all different levels.
