You actually think you can prevent teen pregnancy by curtailing your daughter's independence? Good luck with that one.
As far as hanging with boys, my dd has always had friends who were of the penis-equipped variety, and she has been allowed to maintain such friendships throughout her school years. I think it is important for kids to have actual friends of the opposite sex, and not letting them be alone sends a strong message that you expect them to have sex orgies the minute your back is turned. That is not an expectation I was interested in setting.

"Will you not allow your teenage DD to date or will you go along on all of her dates to supervise? "
Yeah, seriously. As far as I can see, girls avoid getting pregnant when they have better things to do and goals for their lives. It also helps if they have a clue what birth control is. Even Rapunzel got knocked up, in spite of being locked in the tower. IMO, it is completely misguided to think that zealous supervision and making boys verboten are the answer. If anything, that will simply make the whole business all the more alluring, and you really don't need to enhance teenagers' interest in sex.
I also sometimes wonder what people who hold such convictions did themselves as a teens, to make them have such a dim view of their own kids.

I had some cousins who had the no dating before 18 rule in their house. One found away around that, getting pregnant during her school lunch break.
sure.
Except that permitted activities don't include being in the building just hanging out or coming and going for no reason.
ITA.
i work with the st.gabriel project and outward ministries like this at my church and have to say when there's a NEED, it's the GIRLS who ask for assistance not the boy..i would hope in the big picture, there's support at home wrt teen pregnancies that we just don't hear about more than this sample of personal experience.
