We have a few late buses. School lets out at 2:30 and there is one at 3:30 and 4:30. My dd walks home so she usually stays no later than the 3:30 bus. There is no other reason with her current activities to stay any later. She is in a play next month so that goes to 4:15 so she WILL be home later than usual.
Not sure why PKA keeps saying these kids are just "hanging" out when it is obvious they HAVE to because there are no buses and they need a right home-shrug.
<-->school at your school?

Why are you rolling your eyes at me?
I've seen it, dropping something off at school...there are groups of kids in the commons socializing before school, I've dropped off my son and he's gone to join the group of kids playing basketball before school....I don't see the issue.
<<Again it seems this after school "hanging" is mainly done because there are no buses and the kids are waiting for a parent to pick them up. >>
Really?

They go outside to join in the pickup basketball game, they go outside to watch a football/baseball/soccer/softball, etc game.

I don't think shows are the same as games, for the exact same reasons you stated...kids get up, walk around and head out for the pizza in the concession stand as you stated, lol.
I'm wondering why it's okay for kids to be dropped off without parental supervision at these events, without a formal check in/out to know who is there and who is not...when it's not okay during the day?
I understand it in my example, it's not required...the school doesn't need to know the comings and goings of the students after school, if the school building is open, the students

<<No, I know my dd is staying after school and then, she comes home. She is not staying there after as there is no reason.>>
So, if you know what's going on...why wouldn't I know?
<<It was a simple question, so why not answer it? Exactly? Almost. The only difference is that I am not a sahm.>>
So is the double standard question, so why not answer that one?
