? for working moms

My son is six months old, and I have been back to work full time for four weeks.

I became upset over the weekend when two people (who are very close to me) made comments such as: "it seems like it would be so much easier to drop your kids off at daycare and work full time than to stay home", and even worse, "it's clearly easier to work and have someone else raise your kids than stay home". Both were stated by mothers who have never been in the position of working full-time with children. I disagree thoroughly with both comments (my life is certainly NOT easier now that I'm back to work!)

So... without stiring up the hornet's nest that is the "mommy war"... I am curious, how can I respond to statements like this? Should I respond, or just let it go? How long does it take to get over hearing hurtful things like this?

Any thoughts are appreciated!

No, actually it started way before that post.

No, she clearly said that if she stated that the money received from UE would be enough until her son started school and that the logs aren't checked anyway.

When my 2nd was born, full day kindergarten was planned to start the year my dd went. They decided not to start it that year, but the following year and I in turn needed to find a sitter for the half day kindergarten she went to.

I'll ignore your other irrelevant misrepresentations of what I have said here, but just address this:

No, that would also be incorrect.

Um. I did. and have. You asked me and I answered. I said that at the time I divorced it was the best thing for me to do with the lump sum I got when david bought me out of our house, however I had also given myself a deadline for finding something I coudl afford and felt comfortable with and if I hadn't found my condo I would have socked that money away and rented.

Oops, I must have missed that. I thought I saw a post where she said that she would have to take her son out of daycare.

On a different note, what happens if a person is actively looking for work, but they never (or hardly ever) get called in for an interview? What gets logged to show that they are actively searching?
