? for working moms

My son is six months old, and I have been back to work full time for four weeks.

I became upset over the weekend when two people (who are very close to me) made comments such as: "it seems like it would be so much easier to drop your kids off at daycare and work full time than to stay home", and even worse, "it's clearly easier to work and have someone else raise your kids than stay home". Both were stated by mothers who have never been in the position of working full-time with children. I disagree thoroughly with both comments (my life is certainly NOT easier now that I'm back to work!)

So... without stiring up the hornet's nest that is the "mommy war"... I am curious, how can I respond to statements like this? Should I respond, or just let it go? How long does it take to get over hearing hurtful things like this?

Any thoughts are appreciated!

so where were these all powerful CMS when PKA was being accused of being a racist, or a bad mom for changing her children's schools, or I was being accused of being a hateful man hating mom who was scarring her kid for life and who "no body liked b/c I was a dyke"

No, I think you might want to read the exchange again.

Of course, no one has stated differently....well except RLGT who did state that it was up to the employer, when of course it is not.

That is far far from reality.

the issue was home ownership and puss and I and others who OWN apartment style homes have repeatedly chimed in that home ownership doesn't always come with that perfect yard to play in

Tina presented evidence of the law in NY.
RLGL stated that in her experience, actual practice varied from the law as Tina stated, and as is printed by the state of NY.
If actual practice varies from the practice mandated by law, what is the explanation other than that the actors involved are not abiding by the law?

ROFL, you just don't understand equity at all. I very much understand that houses appreciate and depreciate. You are saying that all the money ever paid to purchasing real estate is the amount of equity put into a property. Um, no way!

No, it really is not for all the reasons explained about those circumstances.
