? for working moms

My son is six months old, and I have been back to work full time for four weeks.

I became upset over the weekend when two people (who are very close to me) made comments such as: "it seems like it would be so much easier to drop your kids off at daycare and work full time than to stay home", and even worse, "it's clearly easier to work and have someone else raise your kids than stay home". Both were stated by mothers who have never been in the position of working full-time with children. I disagree thoroughly with both comments (my life is certainly NOT easier now that I'm back to work!)

So... without stiring up the hornet's nest that is the "mommy war"... I am curious, how can I respond to statements like this? Should I respond, or just let it go? How long does it take to get over hearing hurtful things like this?

Any thoughts are appreciated!

PS. So then why would it be so terrible for the children of apartment dwellers to have to go elsewhere to play in the great out doors if in fact that's what the children' of the NYC wealthy have to do -why then even have to drive an hour or so to the Hamptons -- why I've never had to drive that far to bring liza to a playground!

RLGL is the only one claiming that an employer can't fight a claim for unemployment. She says the employer can actually deny the claim and/or decide whether the fired employee gets unemployment.

As in Bush "I am the Decider!"{

How can you think differently of something that is a requirement? :)

No actually RLGL confirmed that for all the people she knows that got unemployment, it was up to the employer to grant the unemployment. I asked her about laws pertaining to labor & unemployement & her response was the employer decided. I don't make anything up.

Well, as you pointed out...they don't check the logs.

How can you think that the employer decides if they pay benefits or not when the NY labor website clearly states different?

Oh I'm not bashing RLGL. I am disagreeing with her and disputing what she says. I do that with people I disagree with.

"Only myopic, unsophisticated people make it a point of trying to bash others." I would disagree with you on that too. People who make a point of actually bashing people for no actual reason and never add anything to the debate would be mean and spiteful, perhaps. I certainly do not fit the definition of someone who only posts here to bash RLGL or anyone else. You may disagree, but you could poll the rest of the board if you would like. I think you would find that you were a bit lonely in that opinion.

"I can avoid wasting a lot of my time today if I knew your plans." LOL, you can do whatever you want with your time honey!
