Getting out of speeding tickets!
A very informal survey done by a local radio station indicated that one of the top "excuses" that people use to get out of speeding tickets, that actually works, is "I'm late picking my kids up from daycare."

I was once standing in line to pay a speeding ticket (I'm not the type that gets away with anything), and a woman in front of me was explaining that she'd missed the deadline to pay her ticket because she had a hair appointment. They accepted that, and let her pay it and not go to court!
I turned to the guy in line behind me and said, "Gee, I wish I'd thought of that when I was speeding." ;-)
