Favorite Christmas song?

What is your last work day of the year?

Have you ever gone away for Christmas?  Not as in visiting family but on a vacation.

I've flown on Christmas after brunch with family several times.

A friend of mine's daughter died in a small plan crash Christmas day, It was her boyfriend's wealthy parents private plane and they all were killed. This was a few years ago and I still remember that sweet face, she was only a college freshman.

It's a fantastic song.    The Sting Christmas song I like is his version of "I Saw Three Ships".

I worked on a long time consulting gig in the 90s on LI with 4 other RIers. We traveled by private plane every week for over a year. The pilot always asked our weight, and I know some of the others lied about it, but avoiding LaGuardia and getting in at a reasonable hour on Friday was always more important than fear of flying on a small plane over Block Island sound.

The plane was a 6 seater and one of us had to sit in the copilot's seat. It was well-stocked with free alcohol. and cabs met us at the airport when we landed. It was 2hrs from office to home, all paid by our client, and cheaper than commercial. Thunder storms, fog, snow, and especially  wind made some flights pretty scary, but I only remember one cancellation and they took us home in a well-stocked stretch limo. I don't miss the life of a road warrior.

You had me curious so I looked them up, David Bowie is 5'10; Sting is 6'.  I think both are pretty normal heights.  Tom Cruise..  Now he's short, 5'7.

I've met David Bowie. If he's 5'8", I would be surprised. He was close to eye level with my 5'4" self, but he was amazing charismatic.

"The pilot always asked our weight, and I know some of the others lied about it," ---------- Ugh! The first time it was sort of cool, but I quickly realized that it probably wasn't the safest way to travel.

"I've met David Bowie. If he's 5'8", I would be surprised." ------ Yeah, my friend worked with the guy and said the same. Sting used to live in my hood in NY, so I saw him fairly often. Like Jams said he is around 6 feet, which is normal height to me, even if it is not tall exactly.

Oh, and here is Bowie and Crosby crooning together. It is borderline surreal: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DiXjbI3kRus
