The play had only the six main characters. No sub-characters at all. No men. And it ALL took place in Truvy's beaty shop. The play was much more about the bonding of women; about how women and their friendships can get them through anything. And about how that bonding and friendship surpassess age barriers and socio-economic barriers and grouchy-old-women barriers.
