Today was not be a normal day at iVillage. The noise level was a little higher. There was an unusual amount of glitter and sparkles being worn. And there were lots and lots of squeals and laughter. (written by Angela Matusik

One Reason Why Take Your Child to Work Day is the Worst Day of the Year: Because your teens find out you are just as boring as they always suspected that you were.

i don't know if you're in administration, the classroom or both but i always thought it would be fascinating to sit in on one of my dad's classes, we were never students of his...my kids have little to no idea what their dad does, when they were younger we went to his work to meet him for lunch.

My son goes into the office with me on weekends sometimes, and occasionally does graphic work for us.

Ha. And, that the day is completely unproductive, lol.

I bring my kids into the office with me once in a while, my 4yo is the easiest one to have around, he usually comes with mejthough, and knows what he can and can't do. Is easily occupied. Doesn't get into stuff (my other kids don't get into stuff either, but some kids that come into the office do).

cool..my DD is in a class with a girl whose mom teaches the class, i wonder what that's like to have a parent be your school teacher too.

Take Your Child to Work Day is the reason why I have never smoked a cigarette in my entire life.

no kidding, that would be scary for any child, it's scary to see as an adult!

lol! I know from personal experience what you're saying. I've pretty much always had desk jobs and when I started my present job my daughter described it as 'my mom spends all day playing on her computer' ...

Dd used to spend time in our office on a regular basis, until she was old enough to stay home on her own. So for us, for a long time, pretty much any day was likely to be take Your Child to Work Day.

OTOH, it is really only that she is all grown that we can start explaining to her the full range of things that we do. When she was smaller, she was only really exposed to the tamer and more boring aspects. It is quite fun now to let her in on stuff she had no idea about when she was little.
