My daughter and her class were asked to find a number of arguments here, The transcript is longer than this 3 minute video and it touches on a few issues we have tossed around here.  It's pretty cool to me that a teacher is wanting students perspective about this and as I await her return from school to tell me how it went today I wanted to take this to the board, How real is this IYO/E?  Are parents in or out of the loop about their childrens lives?  How do children get a proper education when their lives away from school contradict that?  Thoughts?

Dislaimer, Cosby is known for stirring the pot when he speaks but this is not a minority issue.  Kids are thinkers and I commend her teacher for asking them to think outside the box here.

Education is the fix for poverty, this according to Maria Shriver once during a today show interview..  I don't think she's a big proponent of select schools, just a side note and beside the point I guess, Lol.

This would be the same Maria Shriver whose four children attended an independent school in California where tuition runs 30K a year plus?   Seems kind of silly to invest that kind of money in an education at a select school if you are not a fan of select schools.

So I just read the whole speech that PA provided.  Thanks PA!  I don't know which part your video showed, I can't watch it.  Was this brought up to shame Marla and her dsd?  Because there was a part about teen pregnancy, is that what your focus is today?  Or was it just the poverty and education part?

I'd love to hear what your dd & her class came up with as solutions for the group of people that Bill Cosby was talking about.

Ok, so you'd like to focus on judging Marla's other children?  That's sad too.

Exactly how long is the list of kids that you track on the internet?

You're welcome, the video skips pieces of of the speech, I hope that the teacher gave them the transcipt instead of the edited you tube clip that Jam's provided.
