(Totally OT, not SAH/WOH related, so feel free to not respond)

I went out with 5 other women to dinner last night.

I stand by that. Iam not adressing bad tippers or customers who are average tippers or wonderful tippers Iam not adressing unruly customers in general... iam talking about unruly customers who expect something for nothing.

Just thoght id clear that up.

Well, I agreed b/c i thought it was a possibility but now after more thought, i was incorrect. I dont think it actually is in fact a different area thing. i honestly think it is the type of rest. and the situation.

I would not expect a waitress/ waiter to split checks even if they offered. No way!

Yeah, I think Denny's did that with quite a few African Americans. Didn't work out so well for Denny's.

What makes no sense when discussing this business is that restaurant owners get away with paying their waitstaff a ridiculously low hourly rate.

Are you like that in all areas of your life? I tend to take what people tell me at face value. If someone tells me that they will do something then I think that they are offering because it is something that they have no problem doing. I don't have the power to figure out why they are offering. Someone should not offer something they are not willing to freely do.

Wages for waitstaff is low because they get their tips.

Yes, some do, some pay a average wage and some pay very well. Befor dh and i went out on our own, he work for a Group land development, golf course communitites. They paid their waitstaff 14 a hour to start plus tips < they can make up to 18 hourly full benifit package, 401, day care expense lots of benifets> member owned< the club house was> a quirk. Our bar staff makes 10.00 a hour our wait staff makes 7:00 all plus tips and we have a samll benifit backage.

That is part of the buisness. Like many hospitality/service indsutry.

I choose what i need to take at face value. I do not want 8 seperate checks, it is a waste of time imo, my time too. If offered My answere is no, thankyou.

This makes no sense. If somone offers me something I do not ALWAYS excpet the offer just b/c they freely offered it. I decide for myself, if i accept the offer.
