(Totally OT, not SAH/WOH related, so feel free to not respond)

I went out with 5 other women to dinner last night.

You may be suprised how the place really works, perhaps the waiter/ress who took your order is not the one who actually serves you, OR, she is off the floor and has given her table to someone else or they work as a team and pool tips.

I guessing if you gave the waitress who you liked the tip, she split it or the still on a shift and your table was her responsibility.

The business is much more complicated then the average man thinks. That is why i love it!:)

I don't know why you seem to insist that you know more about *my particular situation* than I do. I know that this particular restaurant didn't split shifts. I know that the waitress I tipped was not assigned to my table.

But you know what? I guess I'll lie just to agree with you. After all, you MUST know more about a situation you weren't in, with waitresses you didn't meet, in a resaurant you've never been in than I do -- even though I was there, knew the waitress(es), and was a regular at that restaurant.

Yep. You're right and I'm wrong.

Oh? You think I'm upset? What gave you that idea? There's no angry icon, no angry words. I don't know why you think your posts are important enough to my life to make me upset.

Actually, they've provided me with more than a few chuckles.

Aside from the posts that aren't to be mentioned because they violate TOS... the best one was being adamant that a certain piece of software wasn't possible because she has not seen one like it - that could separate checks into seats with a touch of a button.

You know, I've never cooked a souffle, so it must not be possible, simply because I haven't done it, or seen it done before.

why...why the apology? did you read the words i replyed to? i've been known to tolerate a few tables that turn around in haste, annoyed at my family because of our whiny kid. and that tolerance is shown with an apology. i can only take so much of the inconsideration from the wait staff who owes me the courtesy of good service, though. is that what you wanted to know?

just FTR, the debate about seperate checks was for large parties - not business lunches or two tops.

many - about 99% of resteraunts here do not allow parties of 6 or 8 or larger to split checks. its a one check, plus 18% gratuity added regulation that stands for pretty much anywhere you eat around here.

this is what we'vebeen explianing here, in this thread.
