(Totally OT, not SAH/WOH related, so feel free to not respond)
I went out with 5 other women to dinner last night.

Um That is your problem not mine, i never called anyone a "LIAR" actually it is you and another poster claiming iam a liar! lol, as i told you i could care less what you believe about me. It is IRRELVANT to the debate. Obviously others views dont hurt my feelings. ROTFL! Why would it? this debate board is fine with me. I do not get offended by icons views or issues.
Iam a big girl!
The fact of the matter is you are NOT a software designer, so I fail to see how you would know for ABSOLUTELY sure. It may be impossible to split a table into separate checks with YOUR software in one click, doesn't mean its impossible across the board. And just because you happen to own a restaurant longer than my career, still does not mean your experience in NOT Programming trumps my experience.
FTR. I have written software, and been involved in software for: Invoicing, Motel Reservations, Campgrounds, Hotels, Call Accounting, Call Tracking for Tech Support, Client tracking for sales, POS, Inventory and production, Web based reservations, Web based time tracking, Credit Card processing, communicating live with other devices which would take too long to explain here. Using languages such as: VB, C++, xml, html, asp, asp.net, passing hex information back and forth across com ports and serial ports, or USB ports.
But you are right. You're experience with one piece of software is the end all and be all of software knowledge in the universe. Even though i could write you code in another post proving my point.
Um, lets be real b/c they use it !
Agian, common sense.
So that automatically makes anyone who has used a piece of software an expert on the code??? Have you even seen the real code behind it? Can you explain to me the details on how windows allocates memory? Because even I do not fully understand that one...
That is the funniest thing I have ever heard!!!!!!!!!!!!
you 'use' software... do you know the data format that it stores your receipts in? sql? oracle? dbase? access? how about the table formats for the data? does it use GUIDs? is the data relational? taken to 3rd normal form? what reporting program does it use? or does it just write text to a com port that the printer is attached to? is it in c++? web based? are the queries client side or server side?
Ignoring peoples posts show you do not want to admit that you could be wrong here. That is all I want... you to say, you do not know exactly how code CAN be programmed to do most anything.
I know exactly how most resturaunt software works. We obviously have a different view of common sense< in my buisness> and i understand that.
SC is a PITA and something I releive my staff of during wait rush!
