(Totally OT, not SAH/WOH related, so feel free to not respond)

I went out with 5 other women to dinner last night.

There is no reason for me to contact any software company. I understand what they are claiming. They are talking about what the software can do after you have actually split the orders you can then hit a split check button. A you will create seperate checks.

I never claimed it was not simple, my point is during a busy time and a wait, we do not make our servers split big checks b/c it is a waste of time during a wait, it is unecessary and our customers are fine with it.

Oh, i got it, i thought it was irrelvant. Anyway i already back my views that technology is necessary in a well rounded education so it imo was a pointless comment, but i do appreciate your humor. :)

For example, the software could work something like this:

You click on "open check." It opens a screen with spaces to enter the orders by seat. The waiter or waitress enters each person's order under the seat number. It would not take any additional clicks to do this. At the end of the meal, the waiter or waitress hits split check. Then print as usual.

Exactly if you have eight guests you do it eight times. Your a accountant right? That should be pretty simple to fiqure out.

We obviously have very different tastes in humor. I found Lois's comments in the thread above to be quite funny as well.

I do know our collections of law and we do have a system of certain symbols given certain meaning. I do not have to be able to code to prove that you cannot split eight checks with one hit of a button.

Here are my 'claims'... and *your* posts...

Fact: you were gettingbent out of shape like I was asking for sensitive business info when I asked you to prove one of your many many many claims. You said you know how the software works because you use it, yet you refuse to answer any questions on your software

So, answer my questions...

The: "I know because I know because it's common sense" is a pathetic debate argument

"I do know our collections of law and we do have a system of certain symbols given certain meaning."

Eh? That made no sense! So you have a visual touch screen interface? With images on the buttons?

"Collections of law" that is a term I have never heard in software engineering in regards to coding and programming.

YOu still cannot split eight checks by seat number by one click of a button. I have not seen one example that proves that one hit of a button will actually split checks. Only that ppl think it does. Anyway.

There is no reason to debate this anylonger. You have to feed a computer more information then hit the split check button to actually get what orders you want split.

Anyway like somone pointed out, most places have each individual order listed on a check so there is really no logical reason to split a check.
