(Totally OT, not SAH/WOH related, so feel free to not respond)
I went out with 5 other women to dinner last night.

but I didn't say, or indicate, that I was worried. That is something you've fabricated in your own mind.
and you're right ... there isn't a "logical" reason for me to carry on; it is precisely the lack of logic in the preceding posts that is motivating me to carry on.

Yes, it is possible.

It isn't standard to have never received, asked for, or been offered a split check on the East Coast. It varies so widely that I don't think there is a standard.
I don't doubt your experience. I just doubt that your experience represents the standard up and down the East Coast.
Oh please, that is your issue and who say's i dont know how to program software, my son can and he is 10.
<,one table, one tab. thats a fairly standard practice that has been in use since i can't even remember how long.>>
Fairly standard where? Again, I hope you're not presuming to speak for everyone everywhere.
And I never said you said it. Others, however, did.
And I disagree it is unreasonable. Taking more time and working a little harder can often go a long way toward building excellent customer service, repeat business and an excellent reputation.
One thing that I have learned on these boards is that using terms like "never" and "always" usually don't work when debating. IMO, if you had posted, from the beginning, that the software that you use in your restaurants does not allow for simple check splitting and you have set a policy that works best for your situation you would not be forced to defend yourself so rigorously now.
