(Totally OT, not SAH/WOH related, so feel free to not respond)

I went out with 5 other women to dinner last night.

A script card is a type of fundraiser around here.

They're building one up here, I'm so excited. Although I've got an In N Out, so I guess I shouldn't complain. :)

>>guess what you don't know won't spoil your appetite ;) judgment of customers is fairly common, regardless of where you're eating - fast food, casual dining, fine dining - it happens.<<

If you employ gossipy jerks, I guess. I've worked in the service industry for many years, I do not put up with employees speaking of customers in that manner. I guess wait persons who would gossip and judge customers also do that to people IRL. (ie: while not at work.) What's really funny is that a waiter would be snobby about people who eat there when.. he's only a waiter.

I've been to plenty of places with fabulous food that don't employ pricks. Then again, most of the 5 star restaurants I have been to have been in LA, and perhaps they are much more laid back.

If you think about it, aren't you one of the people who would be perturbed that the restaurant let people in who weren't up to par? Perhaps it doesn't bother you because you agree with them.

FTR, if I had that choice between great food and bad service or great food and good service, I'd pick the good service.

I still can't believe that you put asking to have a split check or asking about prices in the same category as belching at the table.

It's, fast food, a drive in. You pull into a slot order your food over an intercom and a car hop brings it to your car.

and this is the exact attitude that makes most waiters bitter about their job, or gossipy about the customers, or unwilling to do anything above and beyond for customers. of course, if we weren't there, the customers would be forced to get up and get their own food.

then again, most waiters/waitresses - like me - make more money than your average company joe, on a an average day. on avearge i was pulling down (netting) $52k a year *not including my actual paycheck* working a whopping 20 hours per week.

but i guess i'm the dumb one, right? LOL.

as i've explained - around here - it is considered rude and/or without class to have your checks split at a five star resteraunt, or to ask for prices. it is also considered wihout class to order and drink white zinfidel, to order shots at the dinner table, to drink beer from a bottle at the table, to order a wine spritzer of *any* kind, to split an entree with another diner (as in, we'll just share one dinner), and the list goes on.

customers expect the resteraunt they dine at to be up to par - the resteraunts expect the same of their customers.

thats the way it is. i don't know what to tell ya.
