(Totally OT, not SAH/WOH related, so feel free to not respond)

I went out with 5 other women to dinner last night.

It might be. It was more than 20 years ago and I wasn't really paying that much attention. :)

I'm confused. I thought a jager bomb was a shot of Jagermeister dropped into a beer. That's hardly a "slam your head back" type of drink I would think--sheer volume would seem to prevent it.

It certainly wasn't even close to the drink you pointed out . . . that couldn't possibly be drunk as a shot because it involved several shots of liquor . . . I thought you weren't supposed to sip shots?

Well I can do one better then that. Several weeks ago I was in NYC and ate at a place that is rated one of the top 10 steakhouses in the country.....and I had.....WATER!

"first, this is regional thing - but resteraunts here that have entrees under $20 operate on a cash basis only (except for fast food joints which now accept credit cards). so having a $20 bill wouldn't even be enough to cover your entree at a regular resteraunt."

Wow, that is expensive, and I thought DC was expensive. With the exception of the high high end restaurants (like Citronelle, Vidalia or THe inn at Little Washington) most entrees are less than $20. "Regular" restaurants like Carlye or Tachibana or Lebanese Taverna have lots of options below $20. I haven't seen many "cash only" payments at any of them.

However, your claim was that restaurant OWNERS would be likely to refuse service (or future business) to someone who ordered it. Surely an owner would be beyond such petty and shallow ignorance? That is to say....a successful owner?

In any case, you really haven't made much of an argument to support the remarkable idea that diners should give a rat's patoot about the opinions of other diners, who, if they had a shred of manners, wouldn't be paying attention to what people at the next table ordered in the first place.

Funny. I don't remember you being at the table. However, since you surely must have been, perhaps you might explain how a drink, served in a shot glass, could possibly contain several ounces of anything.

It is, but you still slam it.
