Almost June

The year is just flying by, can't believe it is almost June already.

1. Do you have many celebrations in the month of June?

2. What one alcoholic drink (if you can pick just one) do you enjoy in the summer?

3. At a BBQ, which one would you rather have, a hot dog or hamburger?

One of the fundraisers our church youth group does every year is make and sell hero sandwiches for use on Superbowl Sunday parties.  I've only been to one Superbowl party in my life, and I made the lasagne to serve at that.   Never again.   I don't like football, so it was a very boring evening.

Maybe it's more hanging out with people who enjoy cooking versus those that don't?

Nah, I enjoy cooking and baking. I don't always have the time to make everything homemade. Some people don't like to cook, some do, some do cook, some take out. It goes from individual to individual and from situation to situation.

the only food needed to be served warm was the breakfast casserole, which I kept in the oven and doled out as needed.   We actually had guests in the house from about 9:45 to 3:30pm.  I think we were down to just immediate family by about 12:45.

Oh ok. You originally put 10am-12pm. Why bother putting an end time then?

I think that I might have missed that particular treat.  I'm OK with that, too.

Oh, I am sure you didn't ;)

"Many parties, superbowl parties for instance, people will get heros and salads" ------- Sure, but keep in mind that there are people in this world who have never hosted or attended a superbowl party or any other TV-centered party.

Ok, ANY party then lol.

Likely so.  I don't host often these days, but when I do, I see it as an opportunity to cook a lot of things for a lot of people.  That part, for me, is as fun as the actual event.

Because I wasn't inviting them to move in .... And if someone waited until 4pm to show up, the food would have been put away and the guest of honor wouldn't have been there.

Didn't miss it?  You are right.  Not very much, if at all.

That was for 35-40 people?

No I didn't miss that, but I also read that they brought a ton of food and drink which lends to the notion that something wasn't being provided by their host, so they brought more food and drink.  Do you tell them or ask them to bring food to a party that you are hosting?

Nope I never tell anyone, they always offer as that is what my friends and family do when they come by for bbq's, parties, get togethers, etc.
