Other than "as little driving as possible," not much :D

Like you, I will be busy but none of it is related to the holiday.

Nah. We were blackballed by the embassy years ago for some yet to be discovered reason, and that is pretty much the only July 4 game in town.

i don't think so, family friends sometimes host a potluck picnic and we've walked from there to where fireworks are but that's not going on this year.

We do the same thing every year, but it's getting boring. I have a friend whose grandkids are about the same age as my kids. They live out in the country where it is safer amd more legal to shoot off fireworks, so we have a picnic followed by fireworks out there. The youngest of the kids is now thirteen, though, and they are not so much into fireworks as they once were. Plus about ten years ago one of the adults, to keep the kids busy between dinner and fireworks, offered ten bucks to the kid who could memorize and recite the most of the Declaration of Indepemdence. So now we have to listen to five kids try to recite the Declaration. Three of them have it memorized. That sucker is longer than you think. Aat the end we play the 1812 Overture and start the fireworks. It is a long, loud evening.

You know, I think you have earned by now the right to have a grown-up July 4 of your choosing.

Busy week, weekend, and 4th, lol. Dh is taking the kids camping, and will be home on Saturday. Then we have a but load of things to do on Sundy... Then on the 4th, our city is hosting events al day long, that we are involved in (including the worlds largest food fight ...which btw, we can't earn a world record for, b/c it's wasting food, lol). Then, at some point, after the parade & bbq, we will head out to watch fireworks with friends.
