so a friend and me were talking ugg boots, she asked if my kids had them and i said yes, mentioning that even on clearance they are expensive as i bought them two years ago off season!

I was going to respond the same. I assumed that's why they were called Uggs - short for UGLY!

honestly, i think they're ugly too, and it took a while for me to warm up to them for my kids. but they are a good boot and they look good on them. i'd never buy them for me but i've seen them on people my age.

What kind of boot is an Ugg? That's what I'm asking.

And your husband's running shoes aren't well made?

You know, we just call them boots, since they're the only boots my kids have They aren't real Uggs. DD1 went through a brief phase in 6th grade when she wanted the real ones, but once she saw how similar the Target ones were (and how much cheaper), she dropped it. Nowadays, she won't wear anything with a label or "advertising" (like the Aeropostale stuff), so it's a moot point. Besides how expensive Uggs are, they're suede, so even if you waterproof them, they're not going to look that great if you actually wear them in snow.
