so a friend and me were talking ugg boots, she asked if my kids had them and i said yes, mentioning that even on clearance they are expensive as i bought them two years ago off season!

No, you can buy your kids whatever you want. I was trying to explain that it is not a question of knock-offs or misnaming boots, just a question of there being less expensive boots readily available.
You often point out that you won't buy your kids iPods and other things you consider status items, so I think it is a little surprising to some that you would shell out major bucks for name-brand boots. But you are certainly free to do so.
My "Uggs" were a pair of old slippers I had. Years ago, before the Uggs craze hit, dh had bought me some lambskin slippers, that were made the same way as Uggs, just not very tall. Then the Uggs thing hit and I was going to Copenhagen in the winter, so I took the slippers and wore them the whole trip. It was perfect, lol. They are great on the plane, easy on/off and they don't squeeze your feet or make them swell.
LOL, yeah, I am a regular fashion plate, I tell ya. I just thought it was great that a stupid fashion made it perfectly acceptable for me to wear my slippers on the plane and around town.
what do ugg boots have to do wtih an ipod?
your argument is skewed, the complaint i've presented before about my hsuband's running shoes is not because they're not good shoes but rather about the money he was shelling out every three months, i can acknowledge that the money i paid for uggs was a lot too, there is no contradiction.
edited to remove last question, it doesn't matter.
