Trust me, I'm quite sure she was nothing like my ex-bil!

From the way you make that sound, let's hope not, lol.

You are now being willfully obtuse.

Why do you feel roll that you have to be insecure to like brand names, quality things and have good taste?

I don't, just the lable business. Having labels and having quality/taste are two entirely different things.

Why would anyone want to go years without buying new clothes or shoes bord?

Just taking a wild guess here, because the person didn't need any clothes and shoes for a while?

For some people shopping is need-based and not a recreational activity.

If one truly has experience with quality clothing, one could tell before purchasing. The quality of stitching, of the finishing of stitching, the hand of the fabric, the quality of notions-- all these things can tell you long begre you take the item home if it's good quality.

Yes, absolutely. I also spent some time at Parson's in NY and trawled the fabric district for years. Since I have handled a lot of fabric and have constructed and sewn quite a lot of clothing, I can usually tell quite easily what the quality of something is and decide whether the price charged is reasonable, given the quality.

Dh doesn't like Macy's either, which is why he persists in calling it Hecht's to make himself feel better, lol.

Why would someone not be able to leave campus during his freshman year? He's in school, not prison. And I think this particular shirt was bought when he lived at home, but I haaven't "taken him shopping" in quite awhile. Three or four years.

Same here. I made dd go shoppingon her own starting when she was 12-13. We do still sometimes go together, but it is rare. Sometimes she tells me where she shopped, other times not. At college, she seems to shop mostly online, but again I am not sure which shops.
