Do you arrive for work, doctor appointments, social events, etc on time?  What events (if any) warrant being early for?  Is there anything you purposely show up late for?  Explain.

How about your kids?

Yeah, it is a little bit more money but if you compare the price of the parking, the gas, the time to get there and back, it is worth it.

Actually for SAG's I just priced it out and it is $200 MORE to go to the bigger airport AND have a stop over with the same airline for the flight we have already booked.

Late and casually late are 2 different things though. Some people are just rude and late all the time and to things that you should not be late for.

Even when I fly out of the regional airport near my parents' house (6 terminals, and the aircraft tend to be Embraer 135 and 140s or equipment of that same capacity), I still need to arrive at least 90 minutes ahead of time because I need the special clearing every time.

If I fly out of a real airport, like BWI, I need at *least* 2 hours.  That's for domestic flights; I haven't flown internationally since before 9/11.

1 hour is all we have ever allotted for all our flights (unless there was a reason we had to get to the airport earlier). Don't need any extra clearance and at the smaller airports the clearance is a much easier, quicker process.

There are some whose grand entrances are almost always late, Lol.  But I agree it is rude to place your own schedule above somebody else's unless it can't be helped.

We have a small local airport, too, but it's often quite a bit more expensive to fly out of there.

I've found that it depends a LOT on the route (and in general flying TO/from a regional airport is cheaper than flying FROM/to that same airport).

For instance, flying from BWI to Charlotte NC (and I'm taking this from my secretarial days, so it may have changed), was routinely around $600 RT.  However, flying from BWI to Raleigh/Durham, or any number of other NC regional airports--every single one of which involved a change of aircraft in Charlotte--was generally $200-300.  It made no sense at all.

When I fly from BWI to IL, it's usually only another $50-75 to change planes (either at O'Hare or Atlanta (don't ask)) than it is to fly to O'Hare or Midway.  And doing the O'Hare/Midway deal involved either renting a car and then driving another 2 hours to my parents' house (or they would come and get me, doubling the driving time.  Even for an increase of $150 over the Chicago option, it's cheaper both in costs and time to just pony up for the regional flight.

And I do really like their itty bitty airport.  They share a flight line with the local Air National Guard, so it's large enough (theoretically) to land C5s, so you come in on this tiny little 35 passenger jet and land (seemingly) 2 counties over and then taxi for an hour (exaggerating) before you get to the tiny little terminal building (that looks like a maintenance shed when you're way out on the runway :D  (Okay, I exaggerate a little bit, but seriously, the scale there is really funny :) )

How can it be debatable if nobody but you and Spring have the slightest clue what "casually late" means?

A full body pat down doesn't take less time when there are fewer gates at the terminal.

You know what bugs me? People who are 'late" to their own party-- you know the type -- they say "come over at 6pm for dinner/bbq/ whatever"  and you get there at 6 and they're all "oh let's see do we need ice?  hmmm should I pull the grill out?  "  nothings done nothing's ready for company.. now I don't mind helping to set things up etc but we have a few friends that do this all the time.. we show up when we're invited for and it's like they just realized they've invited company!
