And AGAIN, I was speaking of LITTLE LEAGUE. Didn't your kids learn sports at home first before going into Little League?

As a side, my kid didn't start soccer with a whole lot of experience at home.  Like his sisters, we followed his own passions and placed him accordingly.  Old debates used to reveal how critical it was to place a kid in every single sport under the sun then let them decide from there, I have two teenagers and an 11 year old now, I never parented that way and my kids are very well rounded and grounded.  We've been incredibly lucky I guess.

Some try and live their lives through their kids or try and have them get scholarships. Many succeed with the scholarships at least. lol.

No, it's about safety, especially with games like football.   I'm not surprised that you and jams believe it's about competition instead of safety, not at all.

Ummm...no, we don't. Sounds like some moms do with your comments about parents signing up late. Shrug.

It matters as a safety reason for the child, that's why it matters.  Allowing a kid to start football after the season has started, then to play in a game with a week or less of practice, to play tackle football...is a safety issue.  A league that has a childs safety in mind would require a certain number of practices for a child before they are allowed to play in a tackle football game.

It has nothing to do with competition and everything to do with safety, how sad that isn't obvious to a couple of posters on this board.

Given your "choice" coments about family, friends, kids friends and just about anyone...that's quite a judgement there jams.

I'm actually shocked that you don't care about the safety of children playing sports, that is most shocking on your part.

She is more threatened by another child's ability than safety, Because any good coach would look at any kid - new player or not - and determine who was ready for what and how soon.  What a pile of falsehood today from the pka, she's on a roll.

There is a reason that many leagues require a certain number of practices before playing in a tackle football game, it's called safety Jams.  Why are you not concerned about safety, why is it always about competition with you?  Why do you feel the need to compete in everything?

It matters as a safety reason for the child, that's why it matters.  Allowing a kid to start football after the season has started, then to play in a game with a week or less of practice, to play tackle football...is a safety issue.  A league that has a childs safety in mind would require a certain number of practices for a child before they are allowed to play in a tackle football game.

Sounds like you are assuming the child has no prior experience? Have you had this problem in your league?

It has nothing to do with competition and everything to do with safety, how sad that isn't obvious to a couple of posters on this

We never said it wasn't about safety so please don't put words in our mouths.

I am sure you are celebrating that scholarship though that you pushed "safety" all these years to get. BAER.

Yep and neither of us said ANYTHING about safety or the lack of it.

So again...how do you know it happens all the time, you didn't answer that question.

<<The little league in your area that your kids were involved in or other kids are if they were not when they were younger.>>

I have already answered this a couple of times, I've told you multiple times now that there are leagues that have a sign up period and a late sign up period.

<<Yeah and it seems on the mother's too who are afraid their kids won't get a scholarship to college if someone else takes over their position. You are safe though, right?>>

No, that would be Jams position about mothers and competition, I've been talking about coaches and safety.
