LOL, well I disagree. That fuchsia flounce on Farmiga was beyond awful. Cruz's dress was beautiful, but not good on her. It would probably have looked great on Susan Sarandon or some other lady with a bit more of a physical presence (AKA, some meat on her bones and some bravura).

Meryl Streep's dress was way too much country club frump for my taste. She is old, but not dead yet. She never was an elegant type though. Lopez's dress may have been Armani, but it looked like it was made of bubble wrap, IMO, and the style was more prom dress than grown up woman dress.

No real quibbles with the rest of the picks, and Queen Latifah is gorgeous. That woman always makes me smile. Come to think of it, she would probably have looked smashing in Penelope's dress.

catching this late but i love meryl streep, she's a class act in roles she plays and how she dresses to me.

Yes, she is a good actress and seemingly a neat person too. She is not, however, naturally elegant. Helen Mirren is naturally elegant, so is Queen Latifah actually, Sigourney Weaver and many others. Streep just isn't one of those.
