Nope. We've done that maybe 2-3x for dd (who is 14 now), and maybe once for ds (10).

So so true about people showing up who did not rsvp...happens a lot and sometimes they bring their siblings with.

football moms are everywhere right now and i hear all the babble about this and that and how much we do for this and that...after listening to some of these b'day parties < of course keeping my opinions to myself> for their kids i began to wonder?

We are long past the kiddo b-day parties (yeah!), but we used to do it at home, pretty low-key. When dd got into the 10yo range, we would usually just take a small group of her good friends to either a movie and pizza or to an amusement park.
