1. Did you do any shopping yesterday or today?

2. Do you have any leftovers? What is your favorite?

3. Do you have a budget for holiday gifts?

The Kids get books when they want them - they're either free (library, Kindle downloads) or very cheap, so we don't save those for Christmas gifts. They sometimes get a special one for a gift, but books are usually a year-round thing. We still try to do one "big gift" for each kid and then a handful of smaller things.

I thought your kids had kindles, or you, I couldn't remember.  Books aren't expensive so I don't really "save" buying them one, Lol.  They read a lot for school, they have to.

Are Christmas gifts supposed to be expensive things you have to save for?

The Girl and I both have Kindles. She also has a tablet, so can use her Kindle app there. And dh had a kindle app on his iPhone and his tablet.  The Boy had a touch, but hasn't downloaded the kindle app. He's not nearly as much of a reader as The Girl and I are.

I never thought to connect having a kindle to liking to read. I'll have to ask DD1 if others in her book club read on a kindle, she doesn't have one and I don't either, She is a more avid reader than I.

Isn't that pretty much the point? Kindles are e-readers ... so wouldn't liking to read be highly connected to having a kindle?

Yeah, we got a great deal on them. TV's have gotten so cheap in price though. We were able to get bigger sized ones now than we could years ago.

Christmas is usually a time when you buy bigger things and yes, some people do save for Christmas. You never heard of a Christmas club where you save money all year long?

This is how it has worked in our house. Everyone here has a kindle except for DSS because he doesn't really enjoy reading. The rest of us do, though.
