1. Did you do any shopping yesterday or today?

2. Do you have any leftovers? What is your favorite?

3. Do you have a budget for holiday gifts?

I can't remember the last time we went to the mall for Christmas shopping actually. My kids were little and we did stop for Santa, That was a long time ago.

Yeah, me too. I did just remember that I need to pick up some moisturizer at Clinique though as I usually get that at xmas time and it lasts me a year. I can do that online now too though :)

Clinique was my first experiment with make up many years ago.

I made the mistake of buying fragrance online once, it looked like the same size bottle I buy my channel in at the department store at a better deal but I came to find out that the ounces were much smaller online, Ugh, Lol.

I'm thinking about a Clinique or comparable gift set/basket for my girls at Christmas.

I try to do as much shopping locally, in brick and mortar stores, as possible. But there are quite a few gifts that just can't be done that way. For instance, The Boy's big gift is tickets to see a Thunder game - has to be done online. Dh bought The Girl some Dr. Who socks and a Dr. Who t-shirt - can't find those locally.

I do a combination of on-line and in store. I prefer in store  both because I can look at the item and I prefer the tax money to go into my city's coffers.   But sometimes the price can be so much better on line or it is not availible locally.  I get got my latest on line purchase yesterday.  Am not impressed at all.  If I has seen them in a store I would not have bought them but not worth the hassle of returning.  I will just scratch them off my list of future purchases.

My older son's "Big present" this year will be a pass to a film festival that he goes to every Spring, bought online. He's also getting a couple of turtlenecks he can wear under his shirts at Starbucks because leaning out that drive through window at 5 am is freaking cold! Online. I haven't decided on his third present, but it will probably be a flannel shirt from Eddie Bauer. I'll probably just go to the mall for that. He like those a lot. The younger one wants a NASCAR jacket (Yeah), online. I also have an enlargement of a photo I took with him and Grneral Chuck Yeager together last year. Sent it to the Grneral to have it autographed and inscribed (for a hefty fee) and will have it framed for the kid for Christmas. Third present will probably be a game for his play station. Probably online.

For the price of the things my kids want this year, they might only be getting 3 things too lol.

I used to do "big gifts" for the kids, american girl dolls to nintendos one year, The one big gift we bought for the family was a wii too. My kids now want books and other more practical things albeit DD2's fascination still with movie stars and Austin Mahone, Lol. DD1 is in a book club at school and she has an interest in a book similar to the one there she's reading. DS wants the latest Diary of Wimpy kid, Hard Luck. DD2 will get a book too. Clothes.

We used to get the kids books every year under the tree. When they were growing up they always got three gifts from us: Something to play with, something to read, and something to wear; and then they got their "big gifts" from "Santa." Nowadays Santa stops elsewhere (Well, maybe he fills the stockings) and e usually end up getting them "an experience" (usually tickets to some place), something to wear, and something else.
