1. Did you do any shopping yesterday or today?

2. Do you have any leftovers? What is your favorite?

3. Do you have a budget for holiday gifts?

We had a Christmas club acount for a couple of years early in our marriage but then I stopped because I liked the flexibility of having it all in one pot and just ear markng a certain amount for Christmas.

"I think the allure with Christmas Club Savings Accounts is that your money is locked in and you don't have access to it until a certain point in time. It's useful for people who find saving difficult otherwise." ------- That would make sense, and thanks for explaining, I had no idea that was the concept.

I think it's about Time for NOBODY to make an appearance because as far as I can tell, she's the only one who could have said that you and your husband are the only ones who reserve buying bigger things for Christmas time.

What does this mean?

I don't think you save more for your family than your own picky ways bord.  The idea of a minor child having a savings account was weird to you too.

I opened savers club accounts when I was in banking.  I don't know if banks still do this but it was not designed - even then - to earn you more interest than a regular savings acccount.

Jambles, I don't know where you got it in your head that the idea of a minor child having a savings account was foreign to me. We opened savings accounts for our kids shortly after they were born. They also have IRA accounts.
