1. Did you do any shopping yesterday or today?

2. Do you have any leftovers? What is your favorite?

3. Do you have a budget for holiday gifts?

My references were people he'd done work for - his past clients.   I too place great value on references from friends or other acquaintances - but if your friends haven't had this type of work done, that isn't possible.

Giving all the money up front, that is made up in sav's example.  What you are inclined to believe is not relevant and it's not true.

I didn't give all the money upfront. And the job didn't meet my definition of VERY expensive.  The amount of the job as quoted by the first contractor and as completed by the second was very close to all the other quotes (yes, multiple) that I received.

I don't know....some people who claim to do their own taxes here aren't really up IRS regulations.  :)

Maybe they do - I have no opinion, as I dont' know who you're speaking of.  But you can read the regulation yourself if you choose: www.irs.gov/pub/irs-tege/p_4090_fed_0305_text.pdf

Or here is the IRS pub on fringe benefits, aka a pia to calculate every year.  :)

You spoke to these clients or just read their reviews online or someplace else?

Not sure what that has to do with my place of business?

A combination of both. As I've said numerous times, I did my due diligence.

Sav said employee, not employer.  My comment was on the employee that was mentioned (and quoted) in my comments.  So not only did I not mention employer (as that wasn't the context), I also didn't mention any place of business.  Why is that you think my comments have anything to do with your place of business?  You know, since they weren't mentioned, at all?
