Makes me feel old to see many of the mainstays of my childhood disappearing. . .Capt. Kangaroo, Mr. Rogers, Gordon from Sesame Street. . .

I"m saddened. I loved that show. My favorite part was when the ping pong balls would blizzard down.


In context of this board ... I find it interesting that Keeshan was an advocate of daycare.

Choose your friends by their character and your socks by their color.  Choosing your socks by their character makes no sense and choosing your friends by their color is unthinkable.

I am soooooo sad. He was *the* only one I remember watching religiously at 8am every morning when I was very little. well, he and romper room. But Capt was sooooo kind and soft spoken. i absolutely loved his show. He will be missed.

I loved Captain Kangaroo. He was the one I watched all the time when I was little. Funny, I thought he would have been older because I figured he was older than my dad (who will be 78 next month). I loved Bunny Rabbit and Mr. Moose and Mr. Green Jeans. It was a really nice show.

Actually, no, I don't remember that. But I'm sure we did. You have a memory like a steel trap. LOL!
